Egyptian magic

Well we finally returned our spirits back to South Africa but we still wake up with Egyptian music and smells every morning. Egypt spoke to my heart like a new lover. Intense excitement about all that is new, and anticipation for what will come next. And the new lover? Well how long will this love affair last?

We have been back for more than a month now and my heart still longs for the ancient “continent that is Egypt”. I call it a continent because I don’t think there is any place quite like it. Egypt for me was a beautiful dream with my eyes wide open. Every day I got transported back to the ancient ways of living and breathing to the old ways. My body remembered this place, and my soul expanded as I remembered my past experiences in the land of magic and wonder.

The temples

What I found most amazing is that you don’t really have to do much in Egypt to connect to Great Spirit. He/She is very awake and very close there. At the temples we did some meditations, but even those, yet powerful, weren’t really needed. The temples and the land spoke their own language and all we had to do was to listen. For some this was easy, the energy is so potent that it overwhelmed a number of us with intense knowing emotion. You see the temples, your body feels the energy of the land and you just know, yes I was here, I probably carved those columns, or the more romantic, maybe I was a high priest or priestess working in the temples. Each sacred sight triggered memories for individuals.  It’s almost like a switch gets turned on and you can’t but help to remember. The land activates your unique blue-prints and it lifts your vibration into a higher octave. I for one and many others have definitely had an increase in psychic awareness. I see and feel much more since my visit.

The people

The inner alchemy group

We had a big group of very diverse people from all walks of life. Overall I think everyone got along, but what I did notice is that Egypt amplified our stuff a thousand fold. If anyone held anxiety or fear in their bodies, they manifested the like of that instantly into their reality. I continuously mentioned in the teachings the importance of becoming very aware of the thoughts, feelings, words and actions. For some this was easy, whereas others battled a bit with keeping their energies aligned. This was pretty much the theme of the trip- transcending the ego and the lower mind, to be lifted into a state of grace and acceptance. For those that did step up to the challenge, Egypt was the most wondrous place. For those that where still a bit stuck, there was challenges to overcome. Personally I have never done anything so spiritually powerful in my life. The energy of the land continuously showed me my “stuff”, the things still hidden from my psychic sight that I had to accept and release in myself. Interestingly, I also observed how people battled with gratitude. I think for some Egypt was very overwhelming, it is a place of very high energy and it asks you to stay totally centered in your body and in your power. Here and there we had people becoming slightly ill, this was most of the time the energy of the land just clearing things out of their energy bodies. The local Egyptians call this the pharaoh’s curse, you only pick this up if you took something from the land without permission.

Highlights of our trip

The pyramids and the sphinx

Energetically it is believed that the great pyramid hold the light for the planet. When we arrived there I had the most amazing feelings rushing through my body. And when I looked at the great pyramid I knew I had to stay on the outside and hold the people that were going in safe. Tamar and a number others joined me in meditation at the one side of the pyramid and it was beautiful. We saw and felt so much, and we had to also clear a lot of astral negative energy out of the ethers while we where there. The Second pyramid was filled with light and a number of people chanted inside the burial chamber, totally bringing the energy alive. There were colours and waves of energy flying around the chamber, and we were all filled with a sense of belonging and divine magic.

At the sphinx we did our 11-11-11 meditation. We received special permission to do this meditation between the legs of the sphinx looking up at the dream stela at 11:00 on the 11th of the 11th of the 11th. It was a very auspicious moment in time. I almost felt we were chosen to do this on behalf of the whole planet. When we arrived there were four Americans at the sphinx who also received instruction to go and meditate there. It was almost like they where waiting for us. It pushed our 29 people to 33, which happens to be a master number and for me the number of Christ consciousness. Our meditation, simple in nature, opened up a massive portal of energy for the planet, many saw massive angelic beings stepping through doors, coming onto this planet. If you look at the photo of the group at the sphinx you can see Emma close to the dream stela still giggling away. The portal could only be opened for a short while as there were many disturbances around the pyramids. I think other tourists were a bit jealous of the privilege our group had to get so close to the mighty sphinx. The portal could only be kept open for about 6 min. What was very interesting is that our group photo was taken exactly at 11:11 on the 11 Nov.

Debra and I also had an amazing experience close to the back leg of the sphinx. We walked pass this little hollow and started buzzing allover. We felt that the sphinx is very much linked with other star civilizations. Sometimes we know and read about these things, but it is much more integrated when you unexpectedly discover and feel this for your self.

Sakkara

Sakkara is believed to be the place where a lot of the Egyptian building styles began. The step pyramid looked like something out of space. Even the sky around the pyramid was a bit different. Sakkara was almost untouched in a way. You can imagine how they used to live, work and built. The surrounding villages are very countrified, with lots of farms and date trees, very lush and green. Sakkara, like the sphinx, also has lots of star connections and this was also quite interesting to see physically when I took some pictures of king Zoser and the inside of the step pyramid.

Philae

The temple of Isis at Philae was definatelly a highlight for many on our trip. It is exquisitely beautiful and the energy was soft, gentle yet powerful. The journey there was also worth a mention. We took a small ferry boat, note the protective eye on the photo, across the river to the island of Isis.

Surrounding the island is the most interesting rock formations, you don’t need much of an imagination to see the creators in the rocks. The Nubian people that live in this area are friendly and more calm that the locals of Cairo. It’s probably the beauty of the landscape where they live that does this. The temple of Isis represents the great earth mother, mother Mary, Shakti, all of the female deities. It holds the energy of the heart. What was quite interesting to observe was how when people got off the boat and touched the land started feeling, many got overwhelmed by intense emotion. A good measure to see if the heart chakra is open is the ability to surrender to your feelings, to open the heart and to cry. For many this was no problem. The temple of Isis radiates beauty and nurturing, but what did distress some was the defacing of some of the temple walls. When the Christians came to Egypt they defaced a lot of the female deities. They only believed in a father god. Isn’t it interesting that we are moving toward a Father Mother God again. We also did a meditation at one of the outer walls of the temple that worked with three different heart types. As individuals we embodied the three aspects of the Egyptian trinity, Isis, Osiris and Horus. It was a very powerful experience for those that embraced this process.

Karnak and Luxor

Luxor was the most beautiful and clean city in Egypt. Luxor gave a feeling of nobility. The local people are also a lot more gracious, not so in your face. The temple of Karnak was like a maze of energy centers. It was almost like they built the temple on a series of energy hot spots. A couple of us in the group had really profound experiences with energy portholes. It is well known in esoteric circles that the temples of Karnak and Luxor represent our energy centers or chakras. Through working with the feeling body we found most of these points. One to mention was a room in Karnak with very strange claws almost imbedded in the rock. We all felt things happening in the throat chakra. Our friend Mandy’s throat closed and she had a bit of a cough, luckily Jacques was there to assist with healing.

The temple of Karnak is vast and expanded and if you have the time you can spend a whole day there. Tamar also had an experience here with the goddess Sekhmet and the god Ptah, but she will write about it herself.

The temple of Luxor, built almost on the banks of the Nile, was one of the most beautiful temples. It also might be because we visited this one at dusk. The whole temple is illuminated with light and it glowed with rich gold against the azure blue sky. It was also interesting to note how the Muslims built a mosque on top of the temple walls, apparently they didn’t know the temple existed because it was buried under the sand. Karine also felt this temple held the entrance to the ascension chambers of Serapis Bey, and indeed we got guided to a small temple on the side of the big one that had a lot of Greek influence. When I stood in front of it the statue inside had felt like the Greek goddess, Aphrodite. A couple of us did a short meditation in front of this small temple and spirit answered, the Muslims started calling for prayer from all around the temple the whole area was filled with beautiful sounds and colours. I must admit the night visit was well worth the effort, but it was very busy, lots of tourists. When I had enough I started walking towards the exit point and felt a gentle pull on my left shoulder, I looked left and saw a carving of the Visices Pisces. For those that are unfamiliar with sacred geometry, this simple means the creative power or energy of the goddess, it is also the symbol of the third eye. This symbol can be found all over the world marking important sacred sites. Another one covers the chalice well in England. We spend a free day in Luxor and for a couple Egyptian pounds we took a horse carriage exploring the city. Our guide took us to a number of markets and this was really a lot of fun.

Valley of the Kings

At the valley of the kings I spend some time with Jean (past master at anything Egyptian) she taught me a lot in the burial chambers of Rameses III. The walls are beautifully painted. It is quite impressive how the colours are still incredibly clear and vivid. What also fascinated me is how they carved these chambers out of the mountain, and what came to mind is what did these people use for light, how did they get everything so perfect with little or no light?

Abydos

We started our journey to Abydos early the morning by bus. This was such a nice experience because we could see how the Egyptians still live in the countryside. It is probably the same as thousands of years ago. We took a relaxing drive to Abydos to visit the temples of Seti 1 and the Osirion. This made me very exited, I was hoping to find the flower of life glyph. It is believed that this glyph holds all the blueprints of creation and I was really chuffed to find it and share it with others in our group. Even our Egyptian guide, who has his masters in Egyptology, had never seen or heard of the flower of life. We also saw the glyph of the future attack helicopters and tanks. This proves that the Egyptians could see into the future. Our guide was quite adamant that the pictures appeared because of deterioration of the sandstone. You can decide for yourself. The temple itself was really well preserved and the hieroglyphs were clear and beautiful. The temple is also a bit off the beaten track so there weren’t a lot of tourists which made it quiet and almost holy.

Dendara

Dendara always called me. I must admit I had high expectations of this temple and yes it was beautiful and colourful but there was a lot of defacing, which made me quite sad. The famous zodiac hat was carved on the ceiling of one of the rooms was removed and taken to France, a replica is now at the temple. Dendara is almost built like an astrological time keeping instrument. It is filled with symbolism and magic. I also felt an intense feeling of joy and peace here. These are some of the attributes of the goddess Hathor whom this temple was dedicated too. The Hathor temple has a very gentle loving, nurturing energy and everywhere there are carvings of Isis suckling Horus. In a way I felt that this temple could have been used for a nursery or a school. There are beautiful carvings of Cleopatra on the sides of the building. The most exiting part was going into the crypt. It’s an underground tunnel filled with really clear carvings. Here we found the Egyptian’s holding something that looked like a light bulb, unfortunately my picture of it came out blurred, but we found a clear one that Tanya or Daxi took. This proves that the Egyptians had electricity and light. Very interesting.

Sharm el Shaik

Sharm was like having a desert holiday by the Red sea. The town itself reminds one of a Las Vegas with an Arabic twist. At night this town really comes alive with light, sound and shopping. It’s cradled by the mountains surrounding it and the turquoise blue warm water invited all for a dive or a snorkel. Waist deep at the main beach you can snorkel around coral reefs with plants and fish painted with the colours of the rainbow. We also went on a glass bottomed boat to observe the bigger reefs along the coat of Sharm. After all the tomb raiding this was a well deserved break.

Mount Sinai

Oh my word! I think Karine will have to fill you in on this one. Yes we climbed the mountain at night, dodging camels, in freezing conditions. The two and a half hour hike up the mountain at night was an experience not to be missed. Hundreds of people climbed this mountain on this particular morning. People see this as quite a spiritual experience, it is believed that Moses climbed this mountain to receive the ten commandments from God. Well poor Moses, I hope he was fit. It is quite a climb, and the altitude does make you tired quite quickly. On the way up there are little Bedouin camel stations offering something warm to drink and flea infested blankets that you can hire. Just writing about this experience makes me ponder… did I actually do this. The climb was well worth the effort see-ing the sun rise over these ancient mountains. My trek down the mountain was very fast as I desperately needed the toilet.

If you would like to join us on future trips, please email your details and state your interest. Tamar and I will be hosting a shorter trip in the beginning of March 2010 which will concentrate more on pyramids and the different deserts in Egypt. One of my disappointments was that we didn’t see enough big open spaces (but we can’t have everything at once). We have decided to do a trip through the black and white deserts, visiting numerous oases. The idea is to get a feeling of life to the Bedouin and desert people. The trip will end with a Nile cruise and the energetics will work with the different heart types. More information will follow within the next weeks so watch this space!
